TRANSFORMASI KONSEP DIRI DAN ADAPTASI NORMA BARU PADA PENDERITA TUBERKULOSIS (TBC)

Abstrak

Tuberculosis is a type of disease that has spread worldwide and has serious impacts through infections caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The spread of cases occurs due to individual non- compliance, but there are also images of individuals who are also compliant with the prevention and treatment of Tuberculosis. This study aims to determine why self-concept transformation can occur in individuals and to explore the adaptation of new norms for individuals. The research method used is a qualitative method with a case study research design that aims to dig deeper into the focus of research on certain individuals. The research location is in the Dasan Agung sub-district with a case index and environmental conditions that are vulnerable to the spread of Tuberculosis. The data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation with analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman which include Data collection, data reduction, and verification. The results of this study indicate that self-concept transformation can occur due to two factors, namely internal and external. Internal factors are a drive from within the individual that arises because of the existence of new symbols and meanings for the individual himself (mind). External factors are factors that refer to the role of other individuals in providing motivation and social processes that have implications for changes in mind and self. Individuals with a changed self-concept in this case are able to undergo adaptation to new norms well, such as being able to get used to taking medication regularly, avoiding interactions, and others, although it is still a little difficult to do.
