Abstrak

This study aims to examine the structure of gender violence in Sasak language conversation texts (BSas). BSas as a form of gender expression functions to realize roles that are considered appropriate and inappropriate for women and men. The latest data from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) shows that 60% of gender construction is verbal violence and 40% is physical violence. Therefore, the focus of the study is on: 1) the natural and social formation of gender language, (2) tracing gender violence in language, and (3) patterns/models of properties or components of verbal violence in the formation of BSas. This research theory applies Systemic Functional Linguistics (LFS) with the ideational function tool of text and context that pays attention to the process, participants, and circumstance. Information collection was carried out using the listening and introspection method using tapping techniques involving free listening strategies, recording, and taking notes. Data checking was carried out using diagrams/tables that show the process, participants, and circumstance. The existing data are in the form of dialogues in the daily lives of the Sasak people. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative methods through the processes of reduction, presentation, and verification. The study found that the construction of gender violence is dominated by verbal violence 37%, material 19%, and behavior 16%. The language map that shows gender violence tends to be verbal and mental, as well as a model for preventing verbal violence in the TL speech community through text idea mapping. The impact of the study includes identifying the main factors that cause gender violence, patterns of gender violence distribution, and gender violence prevention measures directed at BSas speakers.
