Abstract

Information and communication technology continues to develop, so the language used in Electronic Transaction crime also continues to develop. Therefore, the role of forensic linguistics in identifying the language used in Electronic Transaction crimes cannot be ignored. The purpose of this study is to determine the function or role of forensic linguistic in identifying the language used in electronic transaction crimes. The procedure used in this research: (1) data provision stage, and (2) data analysis stage.  In the data provision stage, data collection was carried out in the form of spoken and written language. While in the data analysis stage, language identification is carried out which is adjusted to the purpose of the analysis. The results obtained are: there are three main areas that are the focus of forensic linguistic studies, namely: (1) language as a legal product; (2) language in the judicial process; and (3) language as evidence. Specifically, forensic linguistics can assist police investigators in identifying the use of language used in electronic transaction crimes
