Abstract

In order to increase its contribution to environmental sustainability, FELDA as one of the Malaysian Government Agencies encourages the development of habitable land and new plantations by focusing on sustainability aspects by maintaining environmental ecosystems to support social and economic development in its target areas. The environment plays an important role in maintaining human existence and preserving the life of the ecosystem within it. Devotion is one of the efforts that can be made to achieve environmental sustainability through environmental conservation activities. The service activity is one of a series in the Eco Friendy Garden Community Project which takes place in Kampong Batu Lapan, Kedah State, Malaysia and is carried out in collaboration with the University of Mataram and North University of Malaysia with 26 students as implementers. In implementing this service activity, the demonstration method and Community Based Development method are used, where this activity begins with a presentation of material and a demonstration of tree planting and processing of used tire waste with an emphasis on the community or society as the main subject in this activity. The results of this activity show that there is still a lot of land in the FELDA Batu Lapan area that still requires regular tree planting through sustainable reforestation activities. In addition, the processing of used tire waste also requires a further level of processing in order to produce productive processed waste.
